Mr Babar Chohan is
currently posted as Deputy Director at the DOT, Lahore. Mr Chohan holds a Masters Degree in eEconomics of Developmentf from
the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Hague, Holland,
through a scholarship by the Higher Education Commission (HEC),
Government of Pakistan. He also holds M.A Economics and M.Sc.
Geology degrees from Punjab University, Lahore. He has also done
Postgraduate Diploma in International Trade (WTO), Law from
University Law College, Punjab University, Lahore. He has
attended various study tours, conferences and seminars in
Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Dubai, UK, Ireland, Spain and
Portugal. His areas of interest include Fiscal Economics,
Monetary Economics and Environmental & Health Economics.
Mr Chohan has a
varied educational and professional background. After completion
of his M.Sc. in 1998, he started his career as Assistant
Superintendent Jail in the Home Department, Punjab. He stood
second all over the Punjab Province in the Public Service
Commission competitive examination and served at the District
Jail, Jhang, Punjab. He later joined the Punjab Police through a
Public Service Commission competitive examination as Inspector.
He served the police department Punjab in various capacities for
four years. In 2002, he was allocated to the Postal Group and
served in various capacities in the Pakistan Post Office. In
2003, he joined the Income tax Group as Assistant Commissioner
of Income Tax.
