Muhammad Atiq done M.Sc in Physics and then post graduatation in computer science. In 1986 joined  computer training center, Pakistan Automatic Energy Commission Islamabad. He also served as incharge  computer cell Awane Sadar Islamabad and then prime minister's Secretariat Islamabad  from 1987 to 1990. in 1991 joined Income Tax Department as System Analyst  and in 2004 promoted to the post of Additional Director.

He has assigned the job to manage all matters relating to information technology at DOT LAHORE.
